Hello Kappans, old and new!
I hope everyone enjoyed their winter break. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and here we are at the beginning of a new semester. Before we know it, it will be May and a large piece of the student body will be marching in that graduation ceremony that’s just down the road. Before we think about that, let’s reflect on last semester.
Last semester, the Alpha Upsilon Alpha chapter inducted approximately 40 new members. I send out congratulations to all the new inductees. Let’s give them a round of applause ladies and gentlemen! Even though you can’t hear them, they are applauding you all on your wonderful achievements. I am looking forward to seeing you all around campus and maybe even volunteering at some of our events.
Speaking of events, I’d like to say thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and effort into the fall events that our chapter of Phi Theta Kappa hosted. It was a pleasure meeting some of you at the bake sales, book sale, and chapter meetings. I’d like to encourage you all to consider volunteering at events that are up and coming for the spring semester. It’s a great opportunity to meet each other and the officer team.
Lastly, let’s all look forward to having a great spring semester! This semester, the chapter will be participating in fundraisers, an environmental fair, and we’ll be hosting the viewing of some videos that talk about Phi Theta Kappa’s Honors Study Topic – The Global Dynamics of Power: Gold, Gods, and Glory. I hope to see some of you at these events! Please keep in mind that you can always contact someone from the officer team if you have any questions, or if you’d just like to talk to them.
